Many residents have recently expressed concerns over sightings of coyotes, especially in the Carriage Trails area. This is the time of year coyotes remain active and venture out of their habitat for a number of reasons. With the clearing of land around new residential developments, there is likely more exposure and displacement of existing coyotes. You could encounter a coyote anywhere in our community, as they are common throughout all areas of Ohio regardless of being in a rural or urban area. The following links are to documents that provide helpful information and advice if you see a coyote:

Specific to the areas around Carriage Trails, we have spoken to DEC Land Company who are very sympathetic and aware of the concerns of coyotes in the area. They are researching information about the best ways to deal with the animals, and plan to provide follow-up communication to the residents of Carriage Trails.
Everyone should review the information attached and become educated in how to coexist with these animals, because regardless of what occurs in the future development of Carriage Trails, coyotes will likely always be around.
