[ARCHIVED] North I-70 Water Pressure Project Update

WaterTower

The North of I-70 pressure zone project has completed construction and is currently continuing with activation of the system.  The system was started several weeks ago with a low start-up pressure.  Since that time, there has been a gradual increase in the water pressure up to about 10psi.  There have been some valve issues and a few water main breaks, as was expected for a project like this.  This is normal as weak points in the system will become more evident under higher pressure.  During the course of the system implementation, there have been and will continue to be times where the pressure boosters are paused in order for adjustments or repair.  Currently, the 10psi has been reduced in order to finalize adjustments and repairs and is expected to be back on the increase soon.  We expect over the next couple of months to have the system on its final gradual increase and fully operational at the new normal pressures.

As a reminder, during times of water main repairs, Suez contacts affected households and will give information on biol advisories if necessary.  If you are in an affected area, there may be discoloration of the water.  Click here for information about water main breaks and discolored water.

We appreciate patience during this much needed improvement to our water system.  Contact our engineering office with any questions or concerns 937-233-1423.
