As noted in our previous announcements, the system was shut down to safeguard stress points in the water system from potential damage due to shutting down, then coming back up frequently. We have created a different and additional redundant communication connection for the system which will prevent the interruptions we saw over the past two weeks. The booster stations were turned back on and we have monitored the system to make sure it is stabilized. The pressure in the I-70 north zone is currently up 14 psi and all systems are stabilized and running normally. We will gradually increase to the final 6 psi over the next weeks to safeguard the water system from stress.
We appreciate the patience of all who look forward to enjoying the benefits of the increased water pressure as these final bugs are worked out in this complex improvement to the system. The pressure increase is throughout the system north of I-70, and not limited to specific distribution lines; therefore, every water service line that had pressure under 60psi should have increased pressure. How much of course depends on what the original pressure was. If you still have pressure 40psi or lower, there may be a problem with your service line or interior plumbing. If that is the case, we are happy to come inspect from the distribution side to help identify any potential issues.
