EarthdayAhead

STYROFOAM RECYCLING EVENT

Are you doing some spring cleaning and realizing there's a surplus of Styrofoam cluttering up your home? You are in luck because on Saturday, April 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., bring your recyclable styrofoam to the Rose Music Center West Parking Lot! This event is open to all, regardless of where you live. Only white styrofoam is accepted, and small pieces must be brought in clear bags. No used food containers. Those dropping off do not ever need to leave their vehicle as there will be volunteers on hand to assist in unloading. Styrofoam will be collected and processed by Eco Development to be recycled into new materials like surfboards, picture frames, and polystyrene. Visit hhoh.org for more information.

EARTH DAY CLEANUP EVENT

The Huber Heights Parks & Recreation Board is hosting an Earth Day community clean up event on Saturday, April 22, 2023. From 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., participants can meet up at the Community Center and collect trash grabbers and bags. They can then visit any park in the city and collect trash. Once filled, the bags can be left by established trash cans for city workers to remove. Participants are encouraged to return to the Community Center at noon to take part in Earth Day activities, which will run until 3:00 p.m. This family-friendly event aims to promote environmental awareness and encourage community participation in keeping the city clean.
