Natural Gas Aggregation

The City of Huber Heights participates in the Miami Valley Communications Council’s Natural Gas Aggregation Program to help residents and small businesses access stable, competitive energy pricing. Through the power of group purchasing, participating communities secure a fixed supply rate that protects against sudden price spikes and provides budget stability. Eligible gas customers are automatically enrolled, while all-electric households remain unaffected. Enrollment is free, there are no early termination fees, and participants may leave or rejoin at any time. This program ensures a reliable natural gas supply and continues the City’s commitment to helping residents manage energy costs wisely.

Comparing Your Own Rates

If you are not happy with the aggregation rate obtained by the City or AES's default rate, residents do have the option of comparing and locking in their own rate by visiting the following website:

https://www.energychoice.ohio.gov/

Once you are on the website, follow these steps:

Click the Compare Offers Now button in the middle of the page.

Choose Electric or Natural Gas.

Choose Residential and then AES Ohio (DP&L) for electric or CenterPoint Energy (Vectren) for natural gas.

This will bring you to the Apples to Apples Comparison Rate Chart. It is usually best to choose a supplier that has zero early termination fees, no monthly fees, and a fixed rate. You will also want to check the length of the program, if desired, and make sure there is no intro fee. You can use the filters in the red area on the left-hand side of the page to narrow your search (place zeros in the blanks under early termination fee and monthly fee, and click on Filter Results).

Once you have reviewed the suppliers and have decided on a rate, click on the red Sign Up button at the bottom of the box. This will then take you to that energy supplier’s website, where you will need to enter your personal information, including your current utility account number. You can also call the listed phone number to sign up through a representative.
